Band Directors   

 

JASON FREY

 

Mr. Frey currently serves as the Director of Bands at Wheeler High School. Previously serving as Wheeler’s Assistant Director of Bands, Mr. Frey began his role as director in the Fall of 2023.

 

Mr. Frey is a graduate of Kennesaw State University, where he studied Music Education under Dr. Debra Trafficante, Dr. David Kehler, Dr. Charles Jackson, and Mr. John Lawless. Before Kennesaw, Mr. Frey was born and raised in Warner Robins, Georgia. There he had the privilege to embark on his music journey through directors such as Jay Davis, Lloyd McDonald, Wally Shaw, and Travis Roye.

 

Mr. Frey enjoys spending time with his partner, Ms. Emily Atkeison, and their dog, Blue, watching Atlanta United matches, rock climbing, and being outdoors.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MIA JORDAN

Mia Jordan is in her first year as Assistant Band Director at Wheeler High School. Prior to joining the Wheeler band program, Ms. Jordan taught at various schools in Gwinnett, Fulton, and Cobb County. Although this is her first year as a director, Ms. Jordan has been involved with the Wheeler band since 2019, where she student taught under Mr. Mark Hoskins and Mr. Anthony Higdon, and has worked with the Wildcat Marching Band since!

 

Ms. Jordan graduated from Kennesaw State University with a bachelor's degree in Music Education. During her time at KSU, she studied flute with Rob Cronin and performed with the Wind Symphony, Concert Band, and was an inaugural member of "The Marching Owls." She is a proud graduate of Cobb County, coming from the band programs of Awtrey Middle School and North Cobb High School.
