Wheeler High School Bands

Overview

Welcome to the Wildcat Pride Family! We are excited about your desire to join our wonderful band program!

All band members are encouraged to join the Wildcat Marching Band. Most practices for this group are held after school during football season; however, they do meet on some Saturdays in preparation for marching competitions. For the 2022-2023 school year, Marching Band Camp dates are July 11 – July 15 & July 18  – July 21.  Our expectation is that all members will be present for camp, including color guard members. Please keep this in mind as you schedule your upcoming vacations for the summer.

WHS BAND BOOSTERS

The Wheeler High School Band Boosters (WBB) is the parent organization recognized by Cobb County Schools to represent the Wheeler High School Band. Any parent with a student participating in any aspect of the WHS Band program is considered a member of the booster organization. This includes wind ensemble, symphonic and concert bands, color guard, winter guard, and indoor percussion groups.  Parents are a vital part to the success of the band program, and we encourage everyone to get involved and experience the fun and satisfaction of supporting our students.

The purpose of the WHS Band Boosters is:

  • To promote the program of the Wheeler High School Band set forth by the Band Director

  • To encourage active participation in the band program

  • To provide financial support to the band program

  • To build and maintain an organization of parents who will help promote the general activities of the WHS Band Program

Members are highly encouraged to attend booster meetings, which are held several times a year in the Wildcat Den (WHS Band Room).  These meetings are intended to provide members with up-to-date information regarding events, opportunities to get to know other band parents, and opportunities to positively impact the “band experience” on behalf of the students.
