About Me
Madison Argo is currently the Director of Band at Wheeler High School in Marietta, GA. His responsibilities at Wheeler High School include instructing the marching band, conducting class bands, and overseeing all facets of the program. Prior to his appointment at Wheeler High School, Mr. Argo served as a band director at Rowlett High School in Dallas, TX where he conducted the Honors Band and Jazz Band, and instructed the marching band. Mr. Argo, a native of Alabama, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Auburn University and a Master’s Degree in Wind Conducting from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. His primary instrument is the trumpet.

During his time at Auburn University, Mr. Argo served as the Head Drum Major of the 380-member Auburn University Marching Band. He was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity, where he held roles as Secretary and President. Additionally, Mr. Argo holds memberships in the National Band Association, National Association for Music Educators, Music Teacher's National Association, the Georgia Music Educator’s Association, and the Texas Music Educator’s Association. Mr. Argo has served on the music staff for the Macy's Great American Marching Band which performs in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade for the past eight seasons.
Prior to pursuing his Master’s Degree at Ball State University, Mr. Argo served as the Associate Director of Bands at Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, GA. His tenure at Whitewater was highlighted by taking the Wildcat Marching Band to perform in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin Ireland and a performance at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World (Orlando, FL). Additionally, he oversaw the marching band operations, conducted the Symphonic Band, and created and conducted the Whitewater High School Jazz Catz.
At Ball State University, Mr. Argo pursued his Master’s Degree in Wind Conducting under the mentorship of Dr. Tom Caneva and served as a graduate assistant with the band department. Here, Mr. Argo assisted with conducting responsibilities with the various ensembles, assisted in the instruction of undergraduate conducting courses, and served as an Assistant Director with the athletic bands. Mr. Argo also performed as a member of the Ball State University Wind Ensemble.
Mr. Argo has served as an adjudicator and clinician in Georgia, Alabama, Indiana, and Texas. Mr. Argo performed five seasons as a member of the Cobb Wind Symphony (Mariette, GA), and as a member has performed at the Midwest Clinic, the College Band Director’s National Association Conference (Southern Division), and at the GMEA In-Service Conference. He also served two seasons with the Emory Wind Ensemble as a sub-musician. Mr. Argo presented the session “Strike Up the Stands: Innovative Ideas for Athletic Bands” at the 2019 GMEA In-Service conference.
