About Me

Jason Frey is excited to begin his teaching career as Wheeler High School's Director of Percussion. His responsibilities include the overseeing of all aspects of the percussion program at Wheeler, including marching percussion, concert percussion, and percussion ensembles. Prior to being at Wheeler, Mr. Frey taught percussion at Walton High School and Houston County High School. A graduate from Kennesaw State University, his studies under John Lawless have set him up to be a successful and sought-after teacher of music and percussion techniques.

While at KSU, Mr. Frey had the privilege of studying under great music educators such as David Kehler, Debra Traficante, John Lawless, and several others. He participated in several university performing ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, the Wind Ensemble, the Percussion Ensemble, as well as Pit Orchestras. He also performed a season with the Atlanta Quest indoor program in 2018 and were finalists at WGI Finals.

Mr. Frey is a member of GMEA (Georgia Music Educators Association), NAfME (National Association for Music Educators), and PAS (Percussive Arts Society).
